Crisis In Britannia : Lord Slimely's Appointment

The peaceful town of Moonglow appears to be a bit less peaceful of late, or so it would seem. Recent reports state that large parties of brigands and pirates lead by a "Captain Blackhand" have found their way to the shores of this beautiful city.
"Suddenly they were everywhere!" stated one local healer. "It was all we could do to keep up with the fallen and wounded!"
Little explanation can be found for these sudden attacks, however citizens do report overhearing this "Captain Blackhand" stating, "Ye tell that old wench we will be back for what is ours! And if she be smart, she will hand it over or see the street run red wit’ blood!"
The name ‘Eleana Coriel’ was also mentioned by warriors as having been muttered by the blood thirsty Captain. Ms. Coriel could not be found for comment at this time.
What could these pirates be looking for? And why? Clearly there are more questions yet to be answered.
I shall continue to investigate these questions and report back with my findings.
